YSL Rouge Volpute Shine // Dupe?

Hello, hello, helloo! How are you? I hope you're well.

This post is going to be more of a comparison post, since I noticed that the L'Oréal Color Riche Shine lipsticks and the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks are extremely similar.

The most obvious and also the biggest difference is, of course, the packaging. The YSL lipstick has the iconic and absolutely stunning metal tube with the YSL branding on the outside. It's quite heavy and feels expensive. The L'Oréal lipstick obviously hasn't that exquisite looking packaging since it's still a drugstore product. However,  I really love what they've done. It's made out of a see-through plastic so that you can see the lipstick through it. I love how the lipstick has the square structure all around it. For a drugstore lipstick, I think the packaging looks absolutely amazing.

The product itself is really similar. Both of the lipstick have a cut-off shape. I decided to not go for the same colour as the YSL lipstick for the L'Oréal one since I didn't want to have the same kind of lipstick in my collection, but I'm sure you'll definitely find one that comes at least really close. The L'Oréal collection is pretty big and has a good variety of shades. The YSL lipstick I have is in the shade "47 Beige Blouse" which is a pinky nude. The L'Oréal lipstick is a browny nude and it's called "657 Steal the Shine". Both of the products are fragranced and even the scent is exactly the same. The only difference is that the YSL one is way heavier scented. They are both really creamy and seem quite hydrating and they give a wonderful sheen to the lips. The pigmentation of them is, of course, not as good as a matte or a satin lipstick formula would have, since it they have more of a tinted lipbalm kind of formula. However, I think that the pigmentation is, nonetheless, really good.

All in all, the two lipsticks are incredibly similar. The reason for this could be that YSL Beauty is part of the L'Oréal Group. I've noticed a few similarities in the past regarding other products and if you're looking for a YSL dupe, then L'Oréal is probably the brand to check out. In this case, if you're thinking about purchasing one of the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks, I would definitely recommend checking out the L'Oréal lipsticks first, especially if you're not sure about the price. The YSL lipstick retails for 34,99€, while the L'Oréal one only costs 11,75€.

I love both of them very much and I would definitely purchase both of them again. If you want to read a thorough review of the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine lipstick, then check it out here.

I hope you're having an amazing start to the new week! See you, xx
