The last time I posted a skincare routine was five years ago! So, I thought it is about time to update it since most of my products have changed. In comparison to my last routine, I am now using fewer products and I also try to use as many environmentally friendly products as possible.
I am really happy with my routine at the moment as I have reduced it to the most important things. Furthermore, my skin has been looking amazing the past few months. As you may know, I have struggled with acne and hormonal breakouts for a long time. However, it has gotten a lot better, especially since I have started using one product, which I discovered a few months ago.
Brightening Orange Blossom Micellar Water // Garnier Organic
I have been using Garnier micellar waters for ages. In my opinion, they are the best drugstore make-up removers that are thorough but gentle to the skin. Last year I have switched from the “normal” micellar waters to a Garnier Organic one. 99% of the ingredients are of natural origin and a lot of them are organically grown. In addition to this, the micellar water is vegan, and the plastic bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic.
As all Garnier micellar waters, it removes make-up really well. I love the scent of the orange blossoms, although it is very strong. So be aware of that when buying it. It is recommended for tired and sensitive skin and that seems to be working well with my skin. I also use the reusable make-up pads that Garnier offers. These pads can be cleaned afterward with gentle soap, though, I would recommend putting them in the washing machine regularly.
Due to it being organic and more sustainable, it is more expensive than other micellar waters. In German drugstores, it retails for about 6€.
Fresh Lemongrass Purifying Gel Wash // Garnier Organic
After removing my make-up, I cleanse my skin using this Gel wash. Like the micellar water, the ingredients of this product are mostly natural, about half of them are organic and the bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic.
I probably have gone through three or four bottles of it already and it leaves my skin feeling really clean and smooth. As with seemingly all Garnier Organic products, it has quite a strong scent of lemongrass. However, that does not bother me as long as the perfume is of natural origin, which it is.
This gel wash also costs about 6€ in German drugstores.
Re-Balance Serum // Nø Make Up
This is the product that I think improved my skin so much since using it. Nø Make Up is a sustainable brand from Germany that produces vegan skincare with 95% natural ingredients without parabens, silicone, microplastic, and mineral oils. The brand strives to create products that improve the skin so that make-up is not necessary anymore and I have to say: It works! Since I started using this serum regularly, I have barely needed to wear any foundation. Of course, it did not work overnight but after about two weeks I could definitely see an improvement. Since then, it has become my holy grail product in my skincare routine.
I apply it by gently tapping it into the skin every evening after I have washed my face. I only need the tiniest amount to cover the areas that are most prone to redness and blemishes. The texture of the serum is very light. Thus, it only takes seconds to sink into the skin.
This serum is available in most German drugstores for about 13€.
Soothing Lavandin Anti-Age Eye Care // Garnier Organic
I know, I know… It is not necessary to use anti-aging creams when you are only 23 years old. However, I think it does not hurt to start early, especially because the eye area is such a delicate part of the skin that shows signs of aging first.
As with all other Garnier Organic products, the ingredients are the main reason why I have decided to use this particular eye cream. It has a light and smooth texture so that it is easy to apply. Furthermore, my skin seems to like it as well. Whether it has anti-aging qualities, I cannot say as I do not really have any fine lines, yet.
The eye cream costs about 9€ in German drugstores.
Effaclar Duo (+) // La Roche-Posay
This is such a holy grail product for so many people. I have been using this face cream for years and I am still loving it. It is especially for people who struggle with spots. Of course, I still get a spot here and there but in combination with the serum, it is a lifesaver. It is not too heavy, makes the skin feel really soft, and works well under make-up.
I always buy this cream in the pharmacy for about 13€.
I hope you’re having an amazing day! See you online, xx
