I may have made a pretty spendy purchase... This is probably the most expensive lipstick I own now, so I really wanted to talk a little bit about it and if it's actually worth it's money.
This is the Yves Saint Laurent "Rouge Volupté Shine" lipstick in the colour "Beige Blouse". I was looking at these lipsticks for a while now and, as you all know, I love nice packaging. Needless to say, the look of this lipstick is just next level, which also made me buy it in the end.
Let's take a look at the outside first. The lipstick is pretty heavy since it's made out of metal. It's gold with the silver YSL logo around it and it also shows the colour of the actual lipstick on the outside. I absolutely adore the look of the lipstick and you can definitely see that it's more on the expensive side.
The lipsick itself has a really lovely pinky nude colour which is the perfect everyday colour for me. It's a shine lipstick, so it feels really comfortable and moisturizing on the lips. This is also probably why it doesn't last very long on the lips. I would say it's completely disappeared after one, maybe two, hours which is normal for these kind of lipsticks.
The only thing that I don't like about this lipstick is the scent. It's smells like fruity chewing gum which I hate since I can also taste it when I wear it.
I like this lipstick since I can quickly put it on without worrying about putting lip balm on first, since it is so moisturizing. I love the colour and I, of course, love the packaging. Is it worth the money?
No. I own a similar lipstick by Kiko with almost the same colour, with the same texture and with the same colour pay-off and it only cost about a third. The YSL lipstick costs about 36€ and this is a lot of money and you definitely pay for the name and the pretty packaging. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret buying it. I love it, but I wouldn't say that it's an essential for your makeup collection. You can definitely find more affordable lipsticks that do the same thing. However, if you love makeup as much as I do or if you want to buy it as a present for someone, who is makeup obsessed, go for it. The lipstick is made really well and it's definitely special.
