Hello, hello, helloo! How are you? I hope you're well?
Becca Cosmetics is finally available in Germany and I've heard so much about their highlighters that I just couldn't resist and had to buy one. Of course, it had to be the most iconic and the most known shade of Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfectors: Champagne Pop. The shade was created by Jaclyn Hill who is a YouTuber and makeup artist. Champagne Pop is a shade that is supposed to be perfect for every skin tone and it caused a huge hype around the shade and also the brand in the last two years. Champagne Pop is available in different formulas, but I went for the powder highlighter. It's not exactly the most affordable highlighter since it retails for 37,99€ (in Germany). This is the most money I've ever spend on a highlighter, so let's see if it's worth the money and worth the hype.
The powder comes in a simple but beautiful compact. It feels expensive and well-made, which is what I want when I buy expensive makeup. I want to get the feeling that the money was well spend. Inside there is a big mirror and the powder everyone talks about.
Champagne Pop has a peachy-golden tone and it's super soft to touch. When I swatch it with my finger, it applies quite strongly, but when I try to apply it with my brushes it just doesn't apply as nicely. It seems like my brushes can't pick up the pigment (maybe it's my brushes, but with my other highlighters they normally work) and there is glitter fallout. That's why I've, so far, applied this highlighter with my fingers, which actually works really well, since it blends beautifully. I have to admit that I thought it would be stronger but it's definitely buildable. The shade is amazing. It looks beautiful on my skin tone although I'm quite pale and this highlighter is really warm with a golden undertone.
Although my expectations were extremely high, this highlighter did not disappoint me. It's a good highlighter. The quality is amazing, but I wouldn't say that it's way better than other highlighters in the same price range. If you love highlighters as much as I do and you are willing to spend so much money, do it. It's a nice highlighter and I've used it loads since I got it.
I hope this review was helpful. If you've still questions, feel free to ask. :)
I hope you're having an amazing weekend! See you, xx
