Embracing the Comfort

Hello, hello, helloo! How are you? I hope you're well.

Wer schön sein will, muss leiden! This is a German saying and it basically means: If you want to be pretty, you have to suffer... Well, this has been my motto for a loooong time. I think every girl knows this, we wear heels although they are terribly uncomfortable. We wear short dresses to look nice but we freeze to death, because it normally isn't the season for short dresses. We wear tight jeans to make our legs look longer. We wear full coverage foundation to cover any imperfections that happen to be on our face, but we all know that taking off our makeup at the end of the day is the best feeling ever.
Sometimes we dress to impress, but mostly we do all this to make us feel good about ourselves, to feel comfortable in our own skin and to feel confident.

But is this necessary?

This question came to my mind when I unboxed new trainers. I've never been that kind of girl who wears trainers. I like wearing heeled boots, I wear ballet flats although I know that I will have terrible blisters at the end of the day and I wear shoes that normally would be a little bit too small for me, but they are just too cute not to wear. However, trainers are bloody comfortable (sorry for swearing). Why haven't I tried them sooner? Well, I thought my feet would look big in them.

I came to the conclusion that we sometimes need to embrace the comfort. Of course, we love wearing heels or putting on makeup but it's equally as important to be comfortable, to take time for ourselves and to don't give a shit about what we look like. Just because we are girls we don't always have meet the general expectations regarding looks or to look like a fashion model just because the fashion industry tries to persuade us we do have to. As Karl Lagerfeld once said: "People who wear sweatpants have lost the control over their lives." To a certain degree I kind of agree but wearing them at home doesn't do any harm.
Don't get me wrong, I will still try to make an effort into putting together an outfit or doing my makeup because I enjoy it. However, I will also try to embrace the comfort more, because it's important to just chill and don't give a shit.

What do you think? I would love to hear your opinion about that! :)

I hope you're having a fantastic weekend! See you, xx
