Ever since I first saw the campaign for the L'Oréal x Balmain lipsticks I knew I had to have at least one of them. So, as soon as they were available in Germany I ordered two of them and I was so excited when they finally arrived.
I went for the colours "Domination" and "Confession", which both have the black design on the outside. There were also lipsticks who had green and blue packaging, but I wasn't that much into the lipstick shades, since Balmain designed some crazy colours like khaki green or deep lilacs. Anyway, I absolutely love the black and gold packaging. It has the Balmain branding on the side and it looks just so expensive and chic. The only thing that gives away, that this isn't a high-end lipstick, is the weight. The lipsticks look way heavier than they actually are.
Let's look at the colours of the lipsticks. "Confession" is a wonderful peachy nude shade with a matte finish, which is perfect for an everyday look and I think I'll wear this a lot in summer next year.
I also bought the shade "Domination" which is quite unusual for me, since I never wear red. However, this was just too beautiful, so I went for it. It's an absolutely stunning, rich red, which is slightly darker and I think it would be flattering on all skin colours. Furthermore it makes your teeth look whiter. "Domination" also has a matte finish, which I prefer with red lipstick. I'm curious to know if I'll ever be brave enough to wear this lipstick out and about. I'll let you know. ;)
The quality of both of the lipsticks is great. They are so well pigmented, that this could easily be a high-end lipstick formula. They apply completely opaque and evenly after just one quick swipe and they last so well. I really had trouble getting them off after I did some swatches on my arm, since the red one left a stain behind. This is how you recognize an amazing lipstick.
Unfortunately this lipstick collection was limited, but if you still can get your hands on them (maybe online), definitely go for it. They only cost 11,95€ and they are more than worth the money.
