Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019

Hello, hello, helloo! How are you? I hope you're well.

Another year is over and what a year it's been! I would personally say, 2018 has been the best year of my life, so far.

At the beginning of the year, I spent six weeks in Brighton, which was honestly an amazing experience. I was there with my cousin and we had such a great time. We lived in a small flat really close to the Brighton Pier and we could see the sea from our living room window.
It was the first time that I went travelling without my parents for such a long period of time. I've always been struggling with home-sickness and the first days weren't easy at all. However, after some time I got used to it and Brighton will always have a special place in my heart, since this is the place were a conquered one of my biggest fears.

And it made me grow, since only a few months later (in September) I went on another four-week-trip to Edinburgh. This time, I went with a friend from university whom, at the beginning of the trip, I didn't know that well. However, now she is a close friend of mine and the four weeks just flew by. I've been to Edinburgh before with my school, but it was amazing to see the city from a different perspective and experience it as somebody who lives there.

Speaking of growing, this year I've learned so much about myself as well. I think I got one step closer to finding out who I am and who I want to be. Furthermore, my confidence grew and grew this year. The reason for that is not only that I challenged myself to travel on my own or that I pushed myself to do new things. No, the biggest reason is probably that I have so many amazing people in my life who support me in everything I'm doing. For such a long time I tried to please the wrong people and try to be a certain way so that everybody would like me. However, I stepped away from that this year. Of course, I still would love if everybody liked me, but I know that this is just not possible and that I have to think about myself as well.
I think now I'm the happiest I've ever been!

I loved 2018 so much and I'll always treasure the memories from this year. I hope 2019 will be as wonderful, inspiring, insightful, happy and unexpected as 2018,
if not even better.

I hope you had a fantastic year, too. However, if you didn't just know that there's a new year ahead, a fresh start with new amazing opportunities.
I wish you and all your loved ones an amazing new year and I'm excited to see what is yet to come!

See you, xx
