High Voltage Vinyl // ESSIE

Although I have quite a big Essie nail polish collection already, the brand always manages to make me buy more. I even considered buying their advent calendar this year, but I decided not to. Probably next year, though… However, when I was in my local drugstore sometime before Christmas, there was one nail polish in their Fall collection that caught my eye.

It is called “808 High Voltage Vinyl” and it is the perfect colour for the A/W season. It is a dark green that looks almost black on the nails, and it also has gold glitter in it, which makes it very festive. It applies really well and, as most Essie polishes, it only needs two coats to be fully opaque. Furthermore, it stays on for about four to five days without chipping.

I already wore this nail polish a lot, especially during the festive season. I love that although it is green, it is still a colour that is easy to wear. Since the gold glitter is very fine, the polish becomes an eye-catcher as soon as the light hits it without being too much, which is great if you prefer more subtle colours on your nails or if you are just not in the mood for a chunky glitter polish.

This nail polish is probably not available in drugstores anymore, at least I have not seen it in the ones I have been in. However, there is still stock on the Essie website and also on Amazon.
